LATVIAN UPDATE

Currently we are conducting a series of meetings where we visit all corps and outposts in Latvia.

Last Sunday we were fortunate to attend the Holiness meeting in Seda. (Glad and I have made 3 visits to Seda, and last July were joined by a UK Team. We will return in June 2011 and need a committed UK team to travel with us; painting and plumbing projects)

Seda was a lively village during the Soviet era, but now only a third of the population remain.The rest have moved out and half the houses in the village stand empty.
Seda is one of The Salvation Army outposts and more than a year ago they had no soldiers. Since that time they have had soldier enrollments on two occasions and are currently planning for additional junior and soldier enrollments (uniforms needed).
Last fall they move into the house in the photo, renting a small corner of the building. Since that time the entire property has been donated to the army, however even with the enlarged hall the Sunday meeting was overcrowded.

MOVE ON TO DISCIPLESHIP

Surprisingly few are focused on completely cooperating with God to experience the kind of whole-life transformation described in the Bible and made possible only through a partnership with God. The lack of understanding of the goals of a truly Christian life prevents people from making the extraordinary life transition that are possible.”
